Get Involved

You do not need to be in Ibadan to change what happens in Ibadan. Give, volunteer your skill, or bring your organisation alongside ours.

Volunteer with us

Our programmes are carried by people who show up. Some volunteer on the ground in Ibadan; some help from a laptop, anywhere.

Trainer or facilitator

Teach a craft, run a session, or help facilitate a Ray of Hope edition on the ground.

Mentor

Spend time with young people who need to see someone a few steps ahead of them.

Storyteller

Photography, video or social media — help us document the work honestly.

Logistics & ops

Move materials, set up an exhibition, coordinate a trade fair, keep records tidy.

Tell us how you'd like to help

We will get back to you by email. Nothing here is binding — it just starts a conversation.

Work with us

Partner with Chrysolite

We work with businesses, schools, faith groups, community associations and other non-profits. A partnership does not have to be a cheque — it can be a skill, a venue, a supply of materials, or a market for what our trainees make.

Ways to partner

  • Fund a cohort. Sponsor a full six-week training round and we will report back on who took part and what they made.
  • Donate materials. Fabric, yarn, crochet hooks, stationery, books, uniforms — the practical things a programme consumes.
  • Host an exhibition. Give our trainees a trade fair, a shelf, or a stall where their work can meet a buyer.
  • Send your team. Corporate volunteering days, mentoring sessions, or guest facilitators.
  • Buy from the shop. A simple, repeatable way to keep the training loop funded — see the shop.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Yes. We are registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of Nigeria as Incorporated Trustees under registration number IT/7008093, incorporated on 8 June 2023 under CAMA 2020, with Tax Identification Number 2620089007465. The registration is active, and you can check that yourself in the CAC public search. Full registration details, the certificate itself, and the search link are on our governance page.

We are a small organisation, so our programmes are visible and specific: a named community outreach, a dated training cohort, a Back to School round. If you give, you are welcome to ask us what your money went towards — email [email protected] and we will tell you. We would rather answer an awkward question than keep a donor guessing.

Yes. Payments are processed by Flutterwave, which accepts international cards. The donation link is denominated in Naira; your bank applies its own exchange rate. If a card is declined, email us and we will find another route — including buying from our shop, which funds training directly.

Products in our shop are made by trainees in our skill empowerment programme. In our own words on the store: 100% of these sales contribute to future trainings. Buying an item is one of the most direct ways to fund the next cohort — the trainees earn from their work, and the programme keeps going.

Please use the form on our contact page and describe the situation — the child's age, where they are, and what the barrier is (fees, uniform, materials). Our Back to School programme works through community referrals, and we will tell you honestly whether we can help in this round.

We are based in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, and deliver most of our work in underprivileged communities across the city — including the Isale Osun community of Beere, where our skill empowerment cohorts have trained. Our registered address is Juli Alice Hall, Cilareta Filling Station, Oluyole Estate Road, Oluyole, Ibadan.
